Streamlining End to End Payroll & Award Interpretation

This case study explores the redesign and modernisation of foundU's suite of products.

As a late-stage startup, foundU faced the challenge of streamlining its feature heavy product while maintaining its robust functionality. My role was spent introducing and implementing user-centricity and design best practices across the platform.

Objective

To modernize and streamline foundU's platform, enhancing user experience and visual design while maintaining the product's powerful feature set.

Process & Methodology

Stakeholder Collaboration and User Research

  • Worked closely with: Customer success team, clients, Heads of operations, Dev leads.

  • Conducted extensive workshopping sessions with internal stakeholders and external users throughout each project.

  • This collaborative approach ensured a deep understanding of user needs and business requirements.

Design and Prototyping

  • Created low-resolution prototypes using Sketch and InVision.

  • Focused on simplifying complex workflows while maintaining necessary functionality.

  • Ensured designs utilised UX/UI best practices while being WCAG 2.0 compliant.

Iterative Testing and Refinement

  • Conducted internal testing of prototypes.

  • Gathered feedback and iterated on designs.

  • Collaborated with development team to ensure feasibility of proposed solutions.

Design System Design & Development

  • Created a robust design system and style guide.

  • Ensured consistency across the platform.

  • Facilitated easier implementation of low fi designs and future scalability.
